The History Of Von-Aire, Inc.

The History Of Von-Aire, Inc.

Von-Aire, Inc. was established in 1968 by Harold VonBrocken and first operated in Deltona, Florida.  That same year, Von-Aire was the heating and air conditioning contractor chosen by the Mackle Brother’s Deltona Corporation to handle the installation of central A/C and heat in the new homes being built in their “Deltona Lakes” development.  As Deltona Corporation expanded their development endeavors around the State of Florida, Von-Aire opened offices in those same areas to continue their work for Deltona Corporation.  During the early years of Von-Aire, work was being done on Marco Island, on Florida’s southwest coast, Spring Hill and Marion Oaks near Florida’s west coast, Deltona in Central Florida, St Augustine on Florida’s east coast, and Sunny Hills in the Florida Panhandle.  In all, Von-Aire did work in eight different locations throughout the State of Florida.

Having worked with the Deltona Corporation for so many years in the new construction field, it was a natural progression for the company to broaden their customer base to many other builders in the Central Florida area.  New construction installations continued to be a largest part of the business, as well as servicing the a/c systems Von-Aire had installed over the years.  As the company’s customer base continued to grow, the replacement a/c systems for their original customers also started to become a significant part of the business.

In the 1980’s, as the Deltona Corporation began to pull back from their development endeavors, Von-Aire began scaling back locations to concentrate on Volusia County, Flagler County, Lake County and Seminole County.  By 1991, two locations remained; the corporate headquarters in Orange City, and a satellite office in Holly Hill.

In 2008, the decision was made to consolidate the Company into one Central Business Office.  To achieve this, the corporate headquarters in Orange City was merged into the Holly Hill location.  Today, Von-Aire successfully services all the same Central Florida locations, and directs all Corporate Operations, from the Holly Hill corporate headquarters.

Although both of Harold’s children had grown up “in the business”, working summers and weekends with their Dad, they did not officially join the company until graduating from college.  Tammy VonBrocken Dalton officially joined the company in 1979, after graduating from the University of South Carolina with an accounting degree. Richard VonBrocken joined the company in 1981 after graduating from the University of South Florida with a business degree.

Harold, Tammy and Richard worked together growing the business and expanding the service and replacement markets to compliment the new construction business until Harold passed in 2005.   Today, Tammy and Richard continue to operate the business together, and strive to continue the long tradition of customer service and quality work that was instilled in them by their father.
